Claude Schofield

Claude has been employed with the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) for the past ten years.  He is currently the Economic Development Officer for this Agency for the greater Miramichi region.  He is a husband, a father, and a foster parent who finds time to volunteer with various sport organizations in Miramichi with a focus on the sport of Ringette.

In the past few years, Claude has volunteered with the following organizations in the capacities listed:

  • Miramichi RiverRats Ringette at the Under 9, U10, U12, and U14 – Coach & Assistant Coach
  • NorthEast U14 Regional Ringette Team – Assistant Coach – 2011-2012 Season
  • Miramichi Ringette Association – President – 2008-2010
  • Northumberland County Sports Network – Member
  • Miramichi Whitecaps Competitive Swim Team – Treasurer
  • Foster Parent and has participated in the Student Exchange Program

Claude volunteers without a single complaint. He is a dedicated father to his three girls and his foster son and believes that they need be active in a sport within a healthy environment. Claude played competitive hockey his entire life, and enjoys Ringette due to its discipline and lack of physicality.  Claude finds Ringette, overall, to be a respectful game. He prides himself on teaching his children these skills and leads them by example.  Claude gives 100% to his family and his community.  He believes that volunteering is important so that children in our community are surrounded by great adult role models.  Claude gives time, effort and his talent to our community without asking for anything in return.  Claude promotes a healthy community and encourages others to do the same.
