Jason Hebert
Jason is an active volunteer for sports activities in the Miramichi community. In particular, he volunteers many hours both on and off the soccer field for the betterment of this sport in Miramichi.
In the past few years, Jason has volunteered with the following organizations in the capacities listed:
- Miramichi United Soccer Club – President & Coach U14 Boys Division 1 and U16 Girls Premier
- James M High School Girls Varsity Soccer Coach
- Soccer NB Board Member
- Northern Soccer Zone Board Member
- Miramichi Minor Hockey Hockey Coach – 3 seasons – Peewee & Bantam Competitive C
- Miramichi Bantam AA Rivermen Hockey Team – Team Manager
Jason is the face behind the Miramichi United Soccer Club. Many of us have, in some capacity, come in contact with this organization and it runs on the sweat and tears of Jason Hebert.
He runs MUSC as if it is his full-time job, and he does this with no reward other than fulfilling his passion for the sport. Jason is often seen mowing or lining the soccer fields late into the summer evenings when everyone has long but gone home. Jason organizes every tournament for each age division in both the boys and girls divisions. In addition to running the organization, Jason coaches at least two of the competitive teams each season and even refs games when needed. Jason and his wife Sonya are always seen at the field whether or not they have a scheduled game or practice to make sure everything is ready for the week’s events.
Jason is also an inspirational leader for the sport. He takes the time to assist new coaches as well as the purchase and organization of all equipment to make sure everyone has the necessary tools to be successful. Jason instils drive in his players and provides inspiration to his coaches. Jason is dedicated to the organization and has a real passion for the sport of soccer and he has helped to make soccer a popular sport in our region. He has taken what others have put in place before him and, based on his experiences, made additional improvements to take soccer to the next level of competitiveness in Miramichi.
