Melanie is a wife and a mother of three children who also works full time as a Correctional Officer at the New Brunswick Youth Center.  Melanie resides in the community of Napan and finds time to give back to her community by volunteering with various organizations as well as for her employer.

In the past few years, Melanie has volunteered with the following organizations in the capacities listed:

• Napan Agricultural Show – 15 years – Currently the Director and has served as the President for the past three years.  Responsibilities include being the Director of Advertising and Entertainment.  Hiring Committee and supervision of summer students

• Napan Home and School Association – 4 years – President (one term) and is currently serving as Vice-President (second term)

• Napan Parent School Support Committee – Chairperson

• Save the Napan School Committee

• Worksafe NB – New Brunswick Youth Center – 10 years

• New Brunswick Youth Center Wellness Committee – 8 years

• St. Mary’s Anglican Church – 9 years – Sunday School Teacher

Melanie is a great asset to the Napan community.  Whenever there is a need for something to be done Melanie steps up and helps.  She is currently volunteering as the Chairperson for the Napan Parent School Support Committee and was very involved last year when she worked on the Save the Napan School Committee.  Whether it is through her involvement with the Napan Agricultural Show, Napan Elementary School or other community involvement, Melanie’s gives her best to her community.
