Rhonda is a wife and a mother who has recently rejoined the workforce as a Customer Service Representative for Scotiabank after working in her own home as a child care provider for nine years.  Rhonda has been a volunteer with many youth organizations in our community for a number of years.

Tobi is a wife, a mother, and co-owner/manager of Better Bodies Training Studio in Miramichi and co-owner of Desveaux Developments Inc. & Estey Properties Inc.

Tobi has a passion for fitness and is a certified fitness professional who offers several fitness classes aimed at all ages and fitness levels.  Tobi dedicates her time encouraging others to lead a healthy and active lifestyle as a fitness leader in Miramichi.

Tobi actively maintains her fitness certifications through education workshops and conferences and she has been certified in the following areas; Certified Resistance Training Leader (Fitness NB), Certified Group Fitness Leader (Fitness NB), Certified Older Adult Fitness Leader (Fitness NB), Nutrition & Wellness Specialist (Can Fit Pro), and Fitness Instructor Specialist (Can Fit Pro).  Tobi has encouraged other fitness enthusiasts in our community to pursue their certification and become fitness leaders.

Her fitness volunteer work encourages our community to lead a healthy lifestyle through her active roles with Mango and Miramichi’s in Motion.

Ryan is a teacher at Harkins Elementary School and a coach for minor baseball and various sports teams at his school.  Ryan was born and raised in Miramichi and is the son of Reggie Flynn and Pat Hegan.

Ryan has a passion for baseball and he coaches the minor team so that others can enjoy baseball as much as he does. This includes going away many weekends for away games and spending endless hours on the field.  Ryan has been the physical education teacher at Harkins Elementary School for the past few years and ever since, has always volunteered himself to coach the basketball, soccer and volleyball teams, as well as track and field.

Ryan gives his students the opportunity to learn, play, and most importantly have fun with sports.

Melanie is a wife and a mother of three children who also works full time as a Correctional Officer at the New Brunswick Youth Center.  Melanie resides in the community of Napan and finds time to give back to her community by volunteering with various organizations as well as for her employer.

Melanie is a great asset to the Napan community.  Whenever there is a need for something to be done Melanie steps up and helps.  She is currently volunteering as the Chairperson for the Napan Parent School Support Committee and was very involved last year when she worked on the Save the Napan School Committee.  Whether it is through her involvement with the Napan Agricultural Show, Napan Elementary School or other community involvement, Melanie’s gives her best to her community.

Jason is an active volunteer for sports activities in the Miramichi community.  In particular, he volunteers many hours both on and off the soccer field for the betterment of this sport in Miramichi.

Jason is the face behind the Miramichi United Soccer Club. Many of us have, in some capacity, come in contact with this organization and it runs on the sweat and tears of Jason Hebert.

He runs MUSC as if it is his full-time job, and he does this with no reward other than fulfilling his passion for the sport. Jason is often seen mowing or lining the soccer fields late into the summer evenings when everyone has long but gone home. Jason organizes every tournament for each age division in both the boys and girls divisions. In addition to running the organization, Jason coaches at least two of the competitive teams each season and even refs games when needed. Jason and his wife Sonya are always seen at the field whether or not they have a scheduled game or practice to make sure everything is ready for the week’s events.

Jason is also an inspirational leader for the sport. He takes the time to assist new coaches as well as the purchase and organization of all equipment to make sure everyone has the necessary tools to be successful.  Jason instils drive in his players and provides inspiration to his coaches. Jason is dedicated to the organization and has a real passion for the sport of soccer and he has helped to make soccer a popular sport in our region.  He has taken what others have put in place before him and, based on his experiences, made additional improvements to take soccer to the next level of competitiveness in Miramichi.

Pat is a lifelong resident of Miramichi and has been an active member of the Kinsmen Club of Miramichi since 1995, logging in many hours of volunteer work with this organization.  Pat and his wife, Kelly were married in July 2008 and and built their home in the summer of 2009 in Miramichi East.  Pat works in the maintenance department at DEW Engineering as a purchaser.  He also has attained his Certified Human Resources Professional designation.

Pat volunteers for MS and CF not because of any family connections, but because he has met people that have these diseases and was so moved by their courage and strength that it led him to help in any way he could.  Pat has volunteered with the Kinsmen for 17 years and has been involved with and supportive of almost all non profit groups in Miramichi over those years.  Pat is, and continues to be, the guy to get things done. When a committee needs a kick start or someone to grab the bull by the horns, Pat is the guy.

Paula is a wife, mother of three, and Vice-President of Danny’s Improvements.  Paula is also the Administrative Assistant at North & South Esk Elementary School and has been an employee of School District 16 for 12 years.  She is also the owner of MPM – Making Projects Materialize.

A tried and true daughter of the Miramichi, Paula was born and raised right here in the place she has always called home. As a mother and wife, Paula sees both her opportunity and responsibility to help those within her household reach their dreams. Part of this was fulfilled in the starting of Danny’s Improvements, a local roofing company.  Touted as one of the most respected roofers in Miramichi has allowed Paula and her husband Danny to take a seat of integrity and accomplishment within the ranks of the highly respected of our community.

• Co-founder of “The ROOF Project” – A non-profit organization dedicated to making a difference with families in need.  The ROOF Project has a vision to give a new roof to one Miramichi family each year, believing that one person can make a difference

• Third Day Generation – Coordinator – a ministry based out of San Antonio, Texas.  Through donations of time and finances, Paula has personally set up and been involved in enrichment conferences and opportunities for teens and most of all, the workers who care for them around the world, including Canada, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, England, Scotland, Dubai, Uganda, Mexico and almost every state in the USA

• North & South Esk Elementary Home & School – Secretary

• Sunny Corner Girl Guides – Unit Administrator – Responsible for reviving this program in the  community in 2011

Paula has a natural ability for organization, administration and problem resolution.  She is a driven person, always knowing what she wanted and pursuing it until she reached her goal. This personal determination and drive is one of the main reasons she accomplishes things.  Through both personal tragedies and private successes Paula has continually kept her eyes on the goals of life that she feels are specifically purposed her for.

John is a self-employed bookkeeper and founded his own company, O’Shea Debits and Credits in 2009.  He is also an instructor for NBCC Miramichi in the Continuing Education Department and teaches various computer and accounting courses, including the Payroll Compliance Practitioner Program.

John O’Shea enjoys being involved in his community and helping others.  For the past 15 years, John has been actively involved in his adopted community of Napan as a Director with the Napan Agricultural Show.  From swinging a hammer, to organizing the event schedule and lending his voice as Announcer, John is passionate about being involved with a unique community event that has been part of Miramichi’s history for the past 20 years.

As an avid stock car racing enthusiast, John also volunteers with a couple of Miramichi based racing events.  He volunteers as Announcer for the annual Miramichi Jaycees’ Soapbox Derby, a great racing event for kids 12 and under.  John is also one of the founding organizers of the Eastern Super Mini Cup Series that promotes a cost effect, entry level racing series at various race tracks in New Brunswick.

Recently, John has brought his business skills to volunteer with Hospice Miramichi as Treasurer.  As a night school Instructor of NBCC Miramichi business courses, John has been known to give of his free time to students who need extra help, as well as to family and friends with their computer problems.

Whether it is his community, his love of racing, the business community or students, family and friends, John does his best to be involved and to help others.

Claude played competitive hockey his entire life, and enjoys Ringette due to its discipline and lack of physicality.  Claude finds Ringette, overall, to be a respectful game. He prides himself on teaching his children these skills and leads them by example.  Claude gives 100% to his family and his community.  He believes that volunteering is important so that children in our community are surrounded by great adult role models.  Claude gives time, effort and his talent to our community without asking for anything in return.  Claude promotes a healthy community and encourages others to do the same.
